The Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI), in association with the FHRAI Institute of Hospitality Management (FHRAI-IHM) and supported by the Ministry of Ayush, hosted a special event called Harit Yoga on April 29, 2025 to mark the International Day of Yoga.
Held at the FHRAI-IHM campus, the event brought together students, hospitality professionals, and wellness enthusiasts to explore yoga’s role in promoting inner peace and environmental responsibility. Expert instructors from Mokshayatan Yog Sansthan, including Yogacharya Mukta Sharma and Yogacharya Divya Sharma, led the sessions with support from a team of experienced yogis.
Jaison Chacko, Secretary General, FHRAI said, “Yoga is not just about postures or routines. It is a quiet conversation with yourself and the world around you. Through Harit Yoga, we wanted to remind people that wellness begins with awareness—awareness of our breath, our choices, and the environment we share. As an association representing the hospitality industry, we believe our spaces should do more than just serve. They should support healing, reflection, and balance. Planting a tree or taking a mindful breath is a real act of connection with the world. That is what true hospitality means to us.”
The day began with the Common Yoga Protocol, followed by guided yoga practices, breathing techniques, and meditation sessions. Participants also received saplings from Shri S C Suneja and Dr Narendra Kumar, promoting environmental awareness and symbolising a shared commitment to sustainable living.
Centred around the theme “Harit Yoga: Embrace Nature, Embrace Peace”, the event encouraged discussions on mindful lifestyle choices and green practices. It highlighted yoga as a holistic approach to well-being that nurtures both the individual and the planet—making it a meaningful celebration of health and harmony.
