TOFT and Travelife extend partnership to boost sustainable tourism in India and Nepal

TOFT and Travelife for Tour Operators, represented by the European Centre for Eco and Agro Tourism (ECEAT), have extended their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen sustainability awareness and responsible business practices among tour operators and travel agents in India and Nepal.

Under the renewed agreement, TOFT will promote and manage Travelife’s sustainability tools and management systems for its members. Based on international standards such as ISO 26000 and compliant with EU guidelines, these tools help tour operators integrate sustainable practices into their operations.

As part of the MoU, TOFT will provide members with access to Travelife’s online training and reporting tools, support local adaptation of standards, appoint certified coaches, and promote accredited companies in the region. Meanwhile, Travelife will provide the technical platform, manuals, training materials, and international certification oversight.

The collaboration between TOFT and Travelife began in January 2022 under the EU Switch Asia–supported SUSTOUR project and has since expanded to establish a structured implementation of the Travelife for Tour Operators programme across India and Nepal.
