TezJet Airlines launches its direct passenger flights between Delhi (DEL) and Bishkek (BSZ), marking an important milestone in strengthening tourism, trade, and cultural ties between India and Kyrgyzstan. The new service offers travellers a convenient and cost-effective gateway to Central Asia.
Kyrgyzstan—often called the “Switzerland of Central Asia”—is renowned for its dramatic mountain landscapes, alpine lakes, and vibrant nomadic heritage. From the pristine Issyk-Kul Lake to the bustling bazaars and cultural landmarks of Bishkek, the country provides Indian travellers with an exciting blend of nature, adventure, and cultural immersion. With easier visa processes and expanding tourism infrastructure, Kyrgyzstan is fast becoming a favourite destination for holidaymakers, adventure travellers, and filmmakers from India.
The inaugural ceremony at Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi (DIAL) was attended by representatives of the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in India, GMR Airport leadership, senior officials, and dignitaries. The celebration began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony led by the Ambassador, followed by festive decorations at the check-in counters. Passengers were welcomed with sweets, and a cake-cutting ceremony marked the first departure of the new route.
