India-UAE flights: Low-cost airline starts new route

The UAE now offers an additional affordable option for Indian residents who want to fly home.

With the addition of direct flights between Hyderabad and Ras Al Khaimah, low-cost airline IndiGo has expanded the options for UAE residents who are on a tight budget.

According to the airline’s website, it already flies to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. Ras Al-Khaimah is the 100th place overall, the 26th international, and the 11th Middle Eastern destination in its network.

As Indian nationals make up the largest portion of the population in the emirate, India-UAE is currently among the busiest airline routes. The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (Cepa), which was just signed, would also benefit the travel industry in the upcoming years.

“The country is witnessing a surge in domestic and international travel this year, and we are fulfilling this need by introducing new routes and adding frequencies to our existing routes. We have started new direct flights between Hyderabad and Ras Al Khaimah, in view of the increasing demand. With the introduction of these flights, IndiGo now operates 14 flights a week from two cities in India,” said Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales, IndiGo.

“We will continue to offer more flight options in line with our promise of on-time, affordable, courteous, and hassle-free travel experience across an unparalleled network,” he said.
