Following a record-breaking 40% surge in Indian visitors during the first half of 2025, Moscow is doubling down on its “India-First” strategy. The latest mission featured high-impact B2B networking, immersive technology demonstrations, and a pioneering outreach program targeting the next generation of Indian travellers.
Strengthening Business Ties (MICE & B2B)
A centerpiece of the initiative was a major business mission in New Delhi, where over 100 leading Indian travel companies engaged in more than 500 one-on-one B2B meetings with Moscow-based hotels, tour operators, and venues. To support the growing MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) sector, Moscow has successfully certified over 200 Indian travel professionals through its Moscow MICE Ambassador program, equipping them to organize world-class corporate events in the Russian capital.
Digital Innovation and Immersive Experiences
Moscow is bridging the physical distance through cutting-edge technology. At the recent Victory Motorcycle Rally in New Delhi, which saw participation from over 400 riders, the Committee hosted a VR Showcase. Using 360-degree virtual reality tours, participants were transported to Moscow’s iconic landmarks, from the Red Square to the futuristic Moscow City district, providing a digital “test drive” of the city’s tourism offerings.
Investing in the Future: Student Outreach
Recognizing the power of youth tourism, Moscow officials conducted a first-of-its-kind outreach program at major Indian educational institutions, including Banasthali Vidyapith. Presentations on the “Start in Moscow” and “Youth of Moscow” initiatives reached over 200 students, highlighting Moscow not just as a holiday spot, but as a hub for academic exchange, creative industries, and professional development.
The growth in tourism is further fueled by the simplified Russian e-visa system, which has streamlined the application process for Indian citizens. Additionally, the “Moscow+” initiative was introduced, encouraging travelers to combine a stay in Moscow with natural wonders like the Northern Lights in Murmansk, offering a diverse travel package tailored to Indian preferences.
