Noida International Airport begins commercial operations from June 15

Noida International Airport is set to commence commercial flight operations from June 15, marking a major milestone in India’s aviation infrastructure landscape and establishing a new air gateway for the National Capital Region and North India.

The launch follows the airport’s inauguration and the completion of key regulatory approvals, including clearance of its Aerodrome Security Programme by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security. Authorities have confirmed that the airport is now operationally prepared to begin scheduled passenger services.

IndiGo is scheduled to operate the inaugural commercial flight from the airport, with Akasa Air and Air India Express expected to commence services shortly thereafter. The airport is expected to strengthen regional connectivity while creating new opportunities for tourism, trade, cargo movement, and business travel across Uttar Pradesh and the wider NCR region.

Developed as one of India’s largest greenfield airport projects, the first phase of Noida International Airport has been designed to handle approximately 12 million passengers annually, with long-term expansion plans targeting a capacity of over 70 million passengers per year.

Industry experts believe the airport will play a significant role in reducing pressure on existing aviation infrastructure in Delhi while supporting future passenger growth, regional development, and investment across North India. Enhanced connectivity from the airport is also expected to boost tourism movement and improve access to emerging destinations across the region.

The airport’s launch further reflects India’s continued focus on aviation expansion, infrastructure development, and strengthening air connectivity as demand for domestic and international travel continues to grow.
