This Independence Day, Washington, DC will take centre stage as the nation commemorates America’s 250th anniversary with the July 4th Salute to America 250 Celebration, bringing together residents and visitors for one of the country’s most iconic Independence Day experiences. Set against the backdrop of the National Mall, the free public celebration will culminate in a spectacular fireworks display beginning at approximately 11:00 p.m., lighting up the skies above the nation’s capital for 40 to 45 minutes. This year’s recommended viewing area will be around the Washington Monument, while visitors are encouraged to plan ahead, use public transportation and stay hydrated as large crowds and high temperatures are expected.
