Air India has further strengthened its Southeast Asia network with the launch of a five-times weekly non-stop service between Delhi and Hanoi, marking its debut in Vietnam’s capital city. The inaugural flight departed Delhi in the early hours, arriving in Hanoi to a ceremonial welcome by embassy officials, airport authorities and airline representatives.

With Hanoi now part of its network, Air India expands its presence in Vietnam alongside Ho Chi Minh City, offering travellers enhanced flexibility and seamless travel options. The new route complements the airline’s existing daily flights to Ho Chi Minh City, enabling convenient open-jaw itineraries—allowing passengers to fly into one city and return from another—ideal for both leisure and business travel.
Operated by an Airbus A320neo, the service features a three-class configuration, including Business, Premium Economy and Economy, delivering a full-service experience on board. The route also strengthens connectivity between Vietnam and Europe, with smooth onward connections via Delhi.
Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer, Air India, noted that Vietnam continues to emerge as a high-potential market for Indian travellers, driven by rising leisure demand, growing business exchanges and a surge in multi-city travel preferences. He added that the inclusion of Hanoi enhances travel convenience while deepening connectivity between India, Vietnam and Europe.
