flybig expands regional presence in Punjab

India’s fastest-growing regional airline, flybig, a part of Big Charter Private Limited (BCPL), announced the expansion of flight frequency between Bathinda, Ghaziabad, and Ludhiana. To meet the surging demand for air travel on these routes, flybig will increase its service frequency from two to four flights per week, providing passengers with enhanced accessibility and convenience.

The decision to increase flight frequency underscores flybig’s commitment to meeting the evolving needs of travellers and facilitating seamless regional connectivity between key cities. flybig aims to provide passengers with greater flexibility in their travel plans, by offering more flights each week. Increased and affordable regional connectivity align perfectly with Prime Minister Modi’s vision for inclusive growth and economic empowerment across the nation.

Sanjay Mandavia, Chairman and Managing Director, flybig, said: “Our mission is to ensure that regional air travel is accessible and affordable for every individual, irrespective of their economic background. Affordable air travel has the power to catalyse economic growth and development in New India’s aspirations. The decision to increase flight frequency between Bathinda, Ghaziabad, and Ludhiana reflects our commitment to meeting the growing demand for air travel on these routes. We believe that by offering more options and flexibility, we can better serve our customers and contribute to the overall convenience of their travel experience.”

flybig is offering competitive fares for its increased flight frequency between Bathinda, Ghaziabad, and Ludhiana, with an average fare of INR 999 before taxes. flybig’s DHC-6 Twin Otter aircraft, equipped with 19 seats, will be operating on these routes. This new connectivity is a boon for both leisure as well as business travellers.

The airline recently announced an INR 99* airfare scheme for travellers across all routes from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, which has been extended for May. flybig currently operates flights on 11 routes, including destinations such as Pantnagar, Azamgarh and Shravasti.

flybig foresees significant growth in passenger numbers over the next 2-3 years and plans to expand its operations to accommodate the increasing demand. The expansion of regional connectivity across India represents a significant opportunity for socio-economic development.

Sanjay Mandavia, said: “As regional connectivity expands, the potential for infrastructure development, tourism promotion, and the establishment of new markets will open up. This holistic approach to connectivity holds the promise of unlocking the untapped potential of various regions, driving prosperity and inclusivity throughout the country.”

Increased regional air connectivity will potentially open doors to job creation, business expansion, and overall economic growth, besides facilitating the movement of people, goods, and services.
