Germany allots INR 4.5 Crore for marketing in India

To position Germany as the top travel destination for Indian tourists, Germany has set aside roughly INR 4.5 crore for marketing initiatives in India. According to Georg Enzweiler, Deputy Head of Mission at the German Embassy, Germany is also making efforts to shorten the visa application procedure, which can still take up to eight weeks.

“Visas are a significant issue, and improving application turnaround times is crucial, yet bureaucracy can occasionally drag on. We have expanded our personnel in Mumbai to handle a surge in applicants. We are hopeful that the current eight-week wait period for visas would decrease, but bureaucracy takes time, he added.

He continued by saying that because India is one of the most well-liked countries in the Schengen area, the country received an abnormally large number of applications from tourists from that country. The rules for applying for visas from India have altered as a result. Unlike before, travellers can now apply for a visa at any domestic centre from the VFS Global offices located around the nation.
