The Government of India has introduced a visa-fee waiver for Thai nationals travelling to the country, allowing eligible visitors to obtain a 30-day double-entry e-Tourist Visa without paying a visa fee.
The new arrangement is aimed at making travel between India and Thailand more accessible and facilitating greater movement of visitors between the two countries.
Under the initiative, Thai passport holders can apply for the 30-day e-Tourist Visa through the official Indian Visa Online portal. The visa will permit two entries into India during its validity period.
The fee-free facility will remain available until December 31, 2027, providing Thai travellers with an extended window to plan visits to India.
The move is expected to support India’s inbound tourism sector by reducing one of the costs associated with international travel and making the country more accessible to Thai leisure travellers, repeat visitors and other eligible tourist segments.
For India’s travel trade, the arrangement could create additional opportunities for tour operators, destination management companies, hotels and other tourism stakeholders to develop and promote India packages in the Thai market.
The initiative also strengthens the broader tourism relationship between India and Thailand, while providing greater flexibility for Thai travellers planning visits to Indian destinations.
