Kerala is intensifying efforts to strengthen its position in the Middle East travel market, with the state targeting the arrival of 300,000 visitors from Arab countries as part of its broader tourism growth strategy. The initiative supports Kerala’s ambition to build a tourism economy valued at ₹25,000 crore while expanding its international visitor base.
The state is focusing on enhanced destination promotion, improved tourism infrastructure, and tailored experiences that cater to the preferences of travellers from the Gulf region. Industry stakeholders believe Kerala’s strong cultural ties with the Middle East, combined with its wellness, luxury, backwater, and family tourism offerings, position it as a preferred destination for Arab visitors.
Tourism authorities expect the strategy to generate increased visitor spending, support hospitality sector growth, and create new opportunities for travel trade partners. The initiative also aligns with Kerala’s long-term vision of strengthening international tourism arrivals and attracting higher-value travellers.
The state’s tourism sector continues to play a significant role in economic development, with ongoing investments aimed at enhancing destination competitiveness and visitor experiences across key tourism circuits.
