SIX & SIX PRIVATE ISLANDS announces the appointment of Gaurav Makhijani as Director of Sales – India, effective October 2026. The appointment marks a strategic step in strengthening the group’s commercial presence in one of the Maldives’ key luxury travel markets.
Bringing nearly 15 years of experience in luxury hospitality and travel, Gaurav has built a career spanning commercial strategy, business development, luxury brand positioning and strategic partnerships. With extensive experience in the Maldives hospitality sector, he brings a strong understanding of the Indian luxury traveller and the relationships that shape this evolving market.
Throughout his career, Gaurav has worked with leading luxury travel advisors, agencies and industry partners, developing commercial opportunities and strengthening the positioning of premium hospitality brands. His experience extends beyond traditional sales to include brand collaborations, high-profile partnerships and the development of distinctive experiences for discerning travellers.
In his new role, Gaurav will spearhead sales and business development initiatives across India, with a focus on cultivating strategic partnerships, expanding market reach and strengthening the positioning of SIX & SIX PRIVATE ISLANDS among India’s luxury travel community. Gaurav will support the group’s growing collection of private island experiences, including RAH GILI MALDIVES and DON
MAAGA MALDIVES.
