Tamil Nadu steps up global tourism outreach in Paris

Tamil Nadu Tourism has stepped up its international destination promotion with the inauguration of a dedicated pavilion at IFTM Top Resa 2026, one of France’s major B2B travel trade exhibitions.

Tourism Minister Rajeshkumar inaugurated the Tamil Nadu Tourism Pavilion at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, where the state is showcasing its diverse tourism offering to international buyers, travel companies and tourism professionals.

Held from September 15 to 17, IFTM Top Resa brings together more than 1,650 travel companies and nearly 32,000 tourism professionals. Tamil Nadu’s participation is focused on strengthening its relationships with international travel trade and developing new opportunities in the European market.

The state pavilion presents Tamil Nadu across multiple tourism segments, including heritage, culture, cuisine, wildlife, spirituality, wellness and adventure. Established destinations such as Mamallapuram, Thanjavur, Madurai, Rameswaram, Kumbakonam, Chettinad, the Nilgiris and Kanniyakumari are being promoted alongside lesser-known destinations.

The state’s international pitch also includes experiential and community-based products such as rural and agri-tourism, local food festivals, handlooms and handicrafts, eco-tourism, medical tourism, slow travel and astro-tourism.

Tamil Nadu is additionally presenting curated travel programmes aimed at families, senior travellers and wellness seekers, while highlighting architectural and cultural circuits covering destinations such as Pichavaram, Kolli Hills, Valparai, Yercaud, Yelagiri, Tharangambadi, Dhanushkodi, Gingee Fort and Kanchipuram.

The participation has a strong B2B focus, with state tourism officials conducting meetings with French tour operators, destination management companies and other international industry stakeholders to explore partnerships and develop collaborative tour circuits.

As part of the initiative, the department has also launched “Discover Tamil Nadu – International Edition 2026–27”, a familiarisation trip programme designed to give overseas travel professionals a deeper understanding of the state’s tourism products.

Through its presence at IFTM Top Resa, Tamil Nadu is targeting stronger international trade relationships and greater visibility among global travel buyers ahead of the 2027–28 travel season.
