VFS Global strengthens leadership with Vinay Malhotra’s role in Strategic Partnerships

VFS Global has strengthened its global leadership team with the appointment of Vinay Malhotra as Head of Strategic Global Partnerships, effective 1 August 2026. The appointment marks Malhotra’s return to the organisation, where he previously held senior leadership responsibilities, and reflects the company’s continued focus on expanding strategic alliances to support its long-term global growth agenda.

In his new role, Malhotra will work closely with Zubin Karkaria, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, VFS Global, to drive strategic partnerships and identify new collaboration opportunities across international markets. He will play a key role in strengthening the organisation’s global partnership ecosystem while supporting business development initiatives across multiple sectors of the travel and mobility industry.

Malhotra rejoins VFS Global after serving as Head of Global Sales at IndiGo (InterGlobe Aviation Ltd.), where he spent more than four years leading the airline’s global sales strategy and supporting the expansion of its international commercial operations. His tenure at IndiGo concluded on 30 June 2026, following a period during which the airline significantly strengthened its international footprint.

Prior to his role at IndiGo, Malhotra served as Regional Group Chief Operating Officer – South Asia, Middle East & North Africa, and the Americas at VFS Global. During his earlier association with the company, he was responsible for overseeing operations across several international markets, contributing to operational excellence and business expansion in key regions.

With more than three decades of experience spanning aviation, travel technology, visa services, commercial strategy, and business development, Malhotra brings extensive industry expertise to his new position. His appointment is expected to further reinforce VFS Global’s focus on building high-impact global partnerships while supporting innovation and sustainable growth across its international operations.

VFS Global is expected to formally announce the appointment ahead of Malhotra assuming office on 1 August 2026. Industry observers view his return as a strategic move that further strengthens the company’s leadership as it continues to expand its global presence and deepen relationships with governments, travel partners, and mobility stakeholders.
