In a landmark collaboration South American DMC, Latin America Travel Concept (LATC) and Benchmark Travel Representations have successfully completed their first familiarization trip for Indian travel trade partners, focusing on the rich cultural and natural landscapes of Peru and Bolivia. This initiative took place in December 2023 and marked a significant milestone in promoting Latin American destinations in the Indian market.

Six elite travel companies Bespoke Journeys, Skyroutes, Chrysalis Holidays, Arunodaya Travels and Mango Holidays – were handpicked to embark on this extraordinary journey. The meticulously planned expedition was aimed at showcasing the diverse leisure opportunities that Peru and Bolivia offer, catering to both individual travelers and group tours.

The participants explored key Peruvian destinations such as Lima, Cusco, the Sacred Valley, Puno, and the world-renowned Machu Picchu. The journey included memorable experiences like traversing the Peruvian Amazon, exploring the Maras Salt Mines, and traveling through Urubamba and Ollantaytambo on the Inca Rail trains. In Bolivia, the group was enthralled by the high-speed hydrofoil journey across Lake Titicaca and the unique urban landscape of La Paz. the trip culminated with a stay at a salt hotel in Uyuni, complemented by an excursion to the spectacular Salt Flats, a visual marvel and a photographer’s paradise. This visit not only enriched the agents’ knowledge and experience of these destinations but also allowed them to witness the blend of luxury and culinary richness that Peru and Bolivia have to offer.

This familiarization trip marks the beginning of a promising relationship between the Indian travel trade community and the Latin American tourism sector. LATC and Benchmark Travel Representations are confident that this venture will pave the way for increased tourism flow from India to these culturally rich and diverse South American nations, promoting them as versatile, year-round destinations.

The agents returned with a treasury of unforgettable memories and insights, poised to recommend and tailor unique travel experiences for their clients, thereby fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the South American continent.
