Radisson Blu Hotel & Suites GRT Chennai is strengthening its position in Chennai’s wedding and events market with a multi-venue offering designed to cater to celebrations ranging from intimate family functions to large-scale weddings.
Located on GST Road in St. Thomas Mount and close to Chennai International Airport, the property combines accommodation, dining and event infrastructure, making it suited to weddings that bring together guests travelling from different parts of India and overseas.
The hotel’s Royal Ballroom forms the centrepiece of its wedding offering. The pillar-less venue can accommodate up to 1,250 guests in a reception-style format and 750 guests for a seated banquet, allowing it to host a range of traditional and contemporary celebrations.
The space can be configured for different wedding formats, including South Indian muhurthams, North Indian pheras, Christian receptions, Muslim nikahs and walimas, Jain and Marwari celebrations, as well as interfaith and multicultural weddings.
For smaller celebrations, the hotel offers the Royal Durbar, which can accommodate up to 200 guests in reception style and 150 guests in a seated banquet arrangement. The venue is positioned for engagements, sangeets, wedding lunches, nikahs and other pre- and post-wedding functions.
The Royal Summit, with capacity for up to 75 guests in reception style, provides a more intimate setting for rokas, close-family ceremonies and smaller gatherings.
The property’s location near Chennai International Airport further supports its appeal for families hosting weddings with outstation and international guests. The combination of guestrooms, restaurants and multiple event venues also enables families to manage several wedding functions at a single property.
Beyond weddings, the hotel’s event infrastructure supports MICE programmes, corporate meetings and social events, allowing the property to address demand across both leisure and business segments.
The expansion comes as Chennai continues to attract domestic and international visitors for business, leisure, weddings and events, with hotels increasingly developing specialised offerings to cater to the growing wedding and residential MICE market.
